The Country

UK stands for United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  Great Britain (GB) is Scotland, England and Wales.  In essence UK consists of four countries. 

The People

Whether UK or GB,  the citizens are  collectively called "British".  However, individually, the people from Scotland are called "Scottish" or "Scots". Those from England are called "English", those from Wales are called "Welsh" and those from Northern Ireland are called "Irish".

British people come in all colours, shapes and sizes - men and women of both sexes.
