Deceit, Lies and Cover Up

I wish to begin by referring to Lord Dyson’s report into the allegations against Martin Bashir, the BBC Panorama Reporter who interviewed the late Princess Diana back in 1995.  And the subsequent BBC internal investigation of 1996 which failed to address the fact that the Princess Diana’s interview with Martin Bashir was acquired by deceit.

Well,  the BBC is no different from any other organisations in the UK,  there are people from all walks of life who manipulate and deceive others to gain advantage.  Although the particular BBC deceit took 25 years to come out,  there are no issues about the identities of those involved - very unlike my case and the identity of Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien (see claim number 3202219/2016, at https://www.adewalea.com).

All Reputations Matter

Employment Tribunal judgment is not about humiliating anyone. Yes, the Employment Judge must make a decision, but the judgment must be balanced. It is very important that we all have faith in the system.  Deceit and lack of transparency erode trust - whether it relates to the Police, the BBC, Local Authorities or Her Majesty Courts and Tribunals Service.

Of course,  Lord Dyson as a former Supreme Court Judge,  is much more experienced and a lot higher in rank compared to the Black Female West Indian Employment Judge in my second ET Claim number 3202219/2016.  However, I believe that integrity and transparency are as relevant in my case as they were in the BBC case.

Having asked me questions about my past with Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien and made notes of my explanations, the Black Female West Indian Employment Judge failed to mention in her judgment  issues relating to the identity of Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien and my 1996 complaints against her. If it was not relevant why ask me about it? What am I supposed to think?  Gaslighting?

Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien lied under oath

Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien lied on matters of considerable importance. She lied that I owed the Council money which deprived me of some payments I was entitled. I denied that I owed the Council any money as Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien alleged or at all. It is always about “Who are they going to believe, me or you?”  with Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien.

Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien also lied about being my line manager, and about working for the same employer,  and about my complaints against her under the Race Relations Act 1976.  Her lies deprived me of evidence in support of my victimisation claim.

My 1996 Complaints against Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien

Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien was my line manager when I was at the Action Department, Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court, Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2.  I am not mistaken and I am not insane.

My complaint against Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien in 1996 related to my appraisal written by her in which she marked me ‘Not Fitted For Promotion’. She alleged an incident involving her partner who was white, (name withheld). I denied the alleged incident. However,  Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien did not witness the alleged incident and she failed to investigate the same as she ought to have done.  She just made the allegations in my appraisal.

I felt the allegations in the appraisal and the ‘Not Fitted For Promotion’ assessment were unfair and unjust. There had been no issues about my performance or my attendance. Further,  there had been no complaints against me - either from colleagues or from our customers. I asked Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien to remove the allegations and reconsider the ‘Not Fitted For Promotion’ assessment. She refused.

Following my complaint about the appraisal,  instead of simply removing the allegations in my appraisal and allow me to go before the Promotion Board,  Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien chose to escalate.  She left a racist letter on my desk. I saw her leave the racist letter on my desk and others witnessed it too.  The letter was very disturbing and offensive. I was extremely distressed. I reported the matter to our head of department - the Chief Clerk (name withheld) and to the Personnel Headquarters.

Settlement of 1996 Complaints against Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien

My complaints were settled and I withdrew my Tribunal Claims. I am grateful for the assistance and the support provided by the Commission for Racial Equality. I am also grateful for the advice and support of my Solicitor and my Barrister.

Settlement was meant to allow Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien and I to move on and leave each other in peace.  The settlement does not entitle Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien, 22 years later (2018 - 1996),  to come back at me and victimise me all over again.

Reputation of London Borough of Barking and Dagenham

In situations such as in my case, it is not just the reputation of an individual which is at stake, it is the reputation of the whole organisation. I wonder if Martin Bashir and those who covered up for him at the BBC considered whether his lies, dishonesty and deception would be exposed?

1. Sharon Harrington was my white manager and the Head of Parking Services. She knew what she was doing when she instigated the alleged redundancy process and got other managers to back her up. A Ghanian colleague  replaced me, (name withheld).  So much for redundancy!

Sharon Harrington has done pretty well. I have assumed that she went through competitive interview as Martin Bashir did when he got the job as Religion Editor at the BBC - following his lies and dishonesty in relation to Princess Diana’s interview.

2. Hakeem Osinaike was the Nigerian manager Sharon Harrington got to sack me. He was at the Housing Services and I was at the Parking Services. I guessed Sharon Harrington calculated that getting a Nigerian manager to sack me legitimised my dismissal?  How sad?

Sharon Harrington  did not get Hakeem Osinaike involved in the case of a white female colleague with a very poor sick absence record and the white female colleague, same age group as me,  was not dismissed, (name withheld). Different Strokes!

I understand that Hakeem Osinaike is now at the Housing Department at London Borough of Brent. And that he is listed as an officer of Locata (Housing Service) Ltd, Company Number 04419315. I hope he is making loads of money.

3. Ms Mehzabeen Patel was the Council Solicitor. She was admitted on 1st February 2017, number  584527. She is a muslim of Indian origin. It would be interesting to see how far she goes.  I said the same about Martin Bashir back in 1995 as he was relatively unknown.

I would find it astonishing if Ms Mehzabeen Patel or a senior manager, or a director at the Council did not investigate, following the disclosure at the hearing,  issues relating to Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien - to ascertain Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien’s true identity and her employment records which would have corroborated my version of events.

Evidence of my 1996 complaints against Jacqui O’Brien/Jacquie O’Brien is not extinguished by passage of time. It remains and won’t go away.
